About Us

MKF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to optimize healthcare delivery in resource-limited settings, as well as foster youth empowerment through scholarship. We have been most active in Nigeria, Ghana, and IL.  We partner with local organizations to provide funding for the critical hours of trauma care,  educate communities on life-saving first aid measures, build infrastructure in elementary schools, conduct health screenings for common medical conditions, conduct HIV screening and link patient to care, provide food and other basic needs to underserved communities and much more. 

Some highlights of our initiatives from 2023 include:
– Our CPR and accident resuscitation education (CARE) initiative held 4 events and trained 288 community members. The project is ongoing.

– Our trauma care funding which provides funds for the first 24 hours of accident victims supported 56 beneficiaries in 10 hospitals with a 100% survival rate

– For World AIDS day, we tested 150 people with 2 newly diagnosed patients who were enrolled into care. We also provided medical screenings for common medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes

– Our community relief program provided food items and clothing to 60 households. Medical screenings were also conducted.

Chidinma Obi Sedenu is an engineering, marketing, and international business development leader with almost two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. She is currently Head of Strategy at LEKOIL Nigeria Limited, an African-focused independent petroleum exploration and production company. Prior to LEKOIL, she was co-founder and Managing Director of GTP Oil Field Solutions Ltd, a wells project management company that provided engineering design, planning, contracting, and personnel expertise for drilling operations. She also led business development and marketing for Transocean Ltd in Nigeria, cementing over USD 200 Million in contract value. Her extensive drilling and optimization engineering background includes several onshore and offshore deepwater projects in the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.

She is a water safety advocate. After a near-drowning incident, she founded My Freedom From Fear, a company that provides training to help adults overcome their fear of deep water, learn to swim, and to self-rescue. She is currently in talks with educational institutions like MIT, offshore industries, and community organizations on its implementation.

Chidinma is a philanthropist. She co-founded The Gamesville Foundation, an award-winning non-profit that provides recreation and aid to humans who are onset by hardship, old age, loneliness,or disability in Nigeria. Leveraging its corporate and individual networks, the foundation has provided more than 1000 children with annual school supplies and has raised over 20 Million Naira in scholarships and assistance to orphans and underprivileged children in Lagos state.

She graduated with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT). She is happily married with two children.
