Trauma Care

Location: Lagos, Nigeria. 2022.

Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of traumatic injuries and death in Nigeria. Every second counts in a trauma response and the risk of permanent injury and death increase with each minute that goes by. Accident victims are often denied care due to their inability to provide the necessary funds for treatments. Some are left unconscious; and without their family members, lives are lost.

Thus, MKF is partnering with Health Emergency Initiative to provide funds for the post-trauma care of motor vehicle accident victims in 2022. This will enable healthcare providers to initiate timely management and resuscitation of accident victims who are unable to pay.

This is an ongoing initiative.
